BADEA ION

Synopsis 

În acest film putem afla chiar prin vocea personajului principal Badea Ion, născut în 1896, martor al multor evenimente istorice importante precum Răscoala din 1907, Primul Război Mondial din 1916, Al Doilea Război Mondial din 1944, perioada comunismului şi evenimentele din Decembrie 1989, aspecte de pe câmpul de luptă şi din viaţa personală a acestuia la revenirea acasă, în satul natal, după ce a luptat pentru ţară.

This is a testimonial movie and a story of an old man, Ion, born in 1896 -- called Badea Ion -- that witnessed one of Romania's most important wars and revolts in its history. Badea Ion brings back memories from the biggest national riot (that took place in 1907), from the WW I and WW II times, but also from the communist period and during the 1989 Revolution, when that regime was over. The main character's stories about the battle field and his coming back home after so much pain are touching.

„Coteţele" reprezintǎ o capcană pentru prins peşte, făcută din trestie împletitǎ cu papură şi prevăzută cu o deschidere îngustă, întoarsă interior, astfel încât peştele, odată intrat în ea, să nu mai poată ieşi.
Pe valea râului Urlui, sunt bălţi cu stuf săntăos şi înalt de până la 3-4 metri, iar pescarii din zonă au bărci din lemn sau tablă, ce seamănă a sicrie şi pescuiesc "la coteţe", o metodă unică în lume la această oră.

"The Wicker Weirs" ("Coteţele") is a documentary movie describing a special technique for fishing, by means of wicker weirs, a sort of traps made from reed and bulrush meant to lure the fish in the narrow hole that is built-in. This fishing method, which is unique at this time, is commonly used on a valley of a river named Urlui, where there are plenty of ponds full of 3-4 meter high thatch bushes. The fish men in the area use big boats, made from wood or metal, looking like coffins, and wicker weirs are their preferred method for catching fish.

„PÂINEA LA ŢEST" este un film reportaj care prezintă un mod tradiţional de făcut pâine, aşa cum făceau străbunii noştri în zona de sud a României, cu sute de ani in urmă. În film putem vedea totodată, pe lângă frumuseţea rurală a unei gospodării din judeţul Teleorman, şi preocupările unei zile obişnuite la ţară a celor doi bătrâni, personajele principale ale ecranizării.
